Rev. Dr. Ben Keller, D.Min., BCC, CT – Senior Pastor/Head of Staff

Pastor Ben grew up in Thornton and Arvada, Colorado and graduated from Arvada West High School.  He has a BA in Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado; a Master in Divinity from University of Dubuque Theological School; and Doctor in Ministry with an emphasis is Executive Leadership from Denver Seminary.   In addition to creativity and visionary leadership, he brings expertise in the area of pastoral care as a Board Certified Chaplain and Board Certified Thanatologist.

He is happily married to his soulmate the Rev. Samantha Keller and they have an adorable Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Monty.

Pastor Ben loves to ski and is a gourmet cook often pairing new recipes with his own selection of home-brewed ales and wines.  If he’s not at the church or in a kitchen, he’s likely riding his electric bike or strumming the guitar.


Nancy Smith, Commissioned Pastor for Care and Stephen Ministries

200011_213994938614748_296031_nPastor Nancy is a Speech and Language Pathologist with years of providing compassionate caregiving as a Stephen Ministry leader.  She is Commissioned Pastor (a Commissioned Ruling Elder) who provides her compassionate care to those who are hospital and those unable to get to worship.

As a trained Stephen Ministry leader, Nancy also lends her expertise and coaching to this very valuable program here at First Presbyterian.


Children and Youth Ministries Team:

Cindy Henderson, Youth Programs Coordinator

Cindy grew up in Colorado Springs and has an amazing passion for youth. She leads a gifted group of youth leaders and adult advisers and can be found with our youth at the local soup kitchen, riding bikes, going to the mountains, or providing a listening ear at a local coffee shop. Cindy also is a primary vocalist for our contemporary praise band Tuned In.


 

Rev. Samantha Keller, M.Div.,  Interim Director of Children’s Ministry

 

Samantha is originally form Kirksville, MO and graduated with a BA in Spanish from Mid America Nazarene College in Olathe, KS.  She has Master of Divinity from Fuller Seminary.  She brings many years of experience in ministry and in the field of Christian Education and pastoral leadership in church of many sizes.  She is also trained interim  pastor and conflict mediator.  She has a passion for God’s children of all ages.

Music Ministries Team:

Neal Figueroa, Director of Music Ministry

Neal comes to us from Memphis via Atlanta. He is a gifted musician and musical director and brings loads of creativity to our musical programs for children and adults.  Additionally, Neal is an actor as well as a professional puppet designer and puppeteer.  You can learn more about Neal’s great talents on his personal page.

 


 

Ken Glaeser, Organist

Ken began playing organ for church at 9 years old and studied for a spell at Julliard in Organ Performance but decided he didn’t want to kill his passion for making music  by turning his art into a full-time job.  He brings his amazing skills at piano and organ and enhances our worship every week.


 

Administrative Support Ministry Team:

Karen Brooks Rhea, Finances and Office Manager

Karen helps keep us all in compliance, pays the bills, and helps to manage our creative and at times a bit unruly staff. She’s married to Scott, the mother of some great young men, and is a serious video gamer.  She an alum of CU – Boulder (Go Buffs!).

 


 

 

Robbie Ortiz, Church Secretary

Robbie has over 20 years experience plus a background in social work. She genuinely cares about doing a great job for you and my fellow staff members. She is a Pueblo native, and has raised her family here. I have 2 grown children, a lovely granddaughter, and another on the way. Stop by and say hello!

 

 


Ken Nolen, Maintenance Supervisor

ken-head-shotIf you can take it apart, Ken can put it back together again.  Ken is a wiz at all things maintenance which is great when you’ve got a beautiful historic church like ours.  He’s keeps things running and looking great.
