Spiritual Direction at First Presbyterian
Mary Lee Although Mary’s career was in corporate tax, her passion is helping others connect to God in deeper ways. She completed her training in spiritual direction in 2010. Since then, she has been involved in spiritual direction and mentoring as well as leading small groups and Bible studies. Mary is currently involved in Stephen Ministry, women’s Bible study, and Centering Prayer at First Pres. She and her husband Jim retired from Minnesota to Pueblo in 2016 and are loving the warmer climate.

Spirituality through Movement
Most Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 PM. Taught by our own Tammy Graham. Tammy is a certified Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga Teacher, where you ‘Get Fit Where You Sit!’. Chair Yoga offers an accessible path to wellness for those with disabilities, weight challenges, inflexibility, joint issues, or who cannot get up and down from the floor. Poses are done either sitting on a chair or using the chair for support. Chair Yoga is a gentle form of yoga that uses easy stretches and poses for strengthening, toning, and balance enhancement. Other benefits include relaxing body and mind and bringing life back into the joints, ligaments, and muscles. Many people notice a reduction in pain and that chronic issues have lessened. She also works with left brain/right brain exercises that stimulate the mind for better focus and concentration. Safety is a high priority in her classes; all poses are offered with different levels of flexibility with reminders to do only that which your body is capable of at the time. She also brings fun and laughter in the class because we all need more of that! Suggested donation/honoraria for instructor $5/class.
Mat Yoga [new class beginning Sept. 5]
Most Tuesdays & Thursdays from 12-1 PM. Taught by our own Karen Micheli. Karen has taught privatley, at Pueblo Community College, and CSU-Pueblo including working with the CSU ThunderWolves Football Team. Some of the more common benefits people gain from yoga include: Increased flexibility, increased strength, improved posture, and better concentration. Suggested donation/honoraria for instructor $5/class.
